The museum (Wilmington, DE) was just close to the Longwood Gardens, so we thought of dropping by a visit before going to our hotel for a check in then proceed to the gardens.
The museum was mostly ideal for kids, but what the heck, we need to be a little bit child-like at times ;). It was just a short visit since it was yet too early to go check in and the concert at Longwood Gardens by the Philadelphia Orchestra will not start until 7pm.
So, it was no rush.

It was nice looking around inside checking those huge stuffed animals that are really looking like real. Whew!

I tried climbing on top of that turtle, and realized it was so hot because it was made of metal, and hubby wanted me to ride on the turtle's back, ugh...lol! The temperature that day was 88F. Well, I got curious as well. So, I struggled so bad. I did it later on but I guess I got burned on the butt! hahahaha!

That was fun!

Another typical weekend for us, so we thought of driving going to Winterthur to see what are worth watching in there.
We usually pass by the place everytime we visit Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania.

Winterthur is a museum, garden and country estate located at Winterthur, Delaware and now houses  many of the most important collections of American decorative arts with nearly 90,000 objects made or used between the years of 1640 and 1860.
This is the former home of Henry Francis du Pont, a renowned horticulturist and antique collector.

We started at the Visitor Center to get our tickets and hopped in the tram for the garden tour. The garden has a vast area and might take us a while to walk the entire garden. By doing that, we won't be able to visit the museum and the galleries or some other spots we wanted to see. So, we thought the best choice in order to save time was to board the tram.

The tram was a short ride, after which we were dropped off at the house museum.
Our museum and house tour was set for 1PM so we had still some 40 minutes to spare in going around while waiting. The vintage car collection which were parked somewhere in front of the museum caught our attention so we took some few shots on them ;).

The entire tour was 2 hours, and it was quite impressive to see all of du Pont's collections.
I love those old, floral designs of silver wares, plus the artistic wall and paint designs in the house.
The du Pont family were surely one of the wealthiest during their time!
It is no joke to tour the entire house for 2 hours of walking because of its huge size...tons of rooms and lots of stairs, lol!

By the time the tour was over, we were starving! Our visit ended with a late lunch at the cafeteria! By the way, the food was great...yummy!

Did you know these food are paid according to weight? lol.
